Anguilla’s Ministry of Health has done an incredible job of stopping the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring travelers can still dine out at restaurants, go on excursions and enjoy their favorite island activities. Before you travel, all visitors must apply to be pre-approved for entry on the Anguilla’s Tourist Board site, including providing proof of insurance covering COVID-19 medical costs, uploading the results of a negative PCR test conducted via a nasopharyngeal swab within 3-5 days prior to your arrival, and pre-paying on-island testing fees. Protocols are changing starting July 1. We recommend starting this government pre-approval process as soon as possible while you are finalizing your plans. Contact us with any questions.
Please note that protocols are subject to change at any time and may be different at the time you stay. Sint. Maarten and other Anguilla gateways may also have different entry and exit requirements, please contact their respective Tourist Boards for details. Applicable trip insurance is always recommended.
How the Vacation Bubble Works — Note, fully-vaccinated travelers can skip the bubble starting July 1
At arrival you will take the first of two on-island PCR tests, travel via approved taxi to Villa Alegria and relax there until the results are provided (usually within 24 hours). Once you receive your negative result for the arrival test, you may enter the activity ‘bubble’ which allows you to go to the beach with an escort; travel via approved taxi and with advance reservations to dine out at restaurants and resorts such as Straw Hat, Blanchards, Embers and Cap Juluca; as well as charter boats for snorkeling, diving or a fresh-grilled lobster lunch at an offshore cay. In-bubble guests will social distance from others. New in-bubble activities are being added every day. After 10 to 14 days in the bubble (number depends on the percentage of cases in your country of origin and is reduced to 7 days if everyone in your party received their final vaccine dose at least 21 days prior to arrival) and a second negative test, visitors are cleared to exit the bubble and can roam the island, rent a car, engage a private chef at the villa and book onsite massage and other spa services.
Our concierge will continue to be available to assist you at all stages of your vacation and will arrange required advance restaurant and activity reservations and approved ground transportation. She can also coordinate optional grocery/bar stocking and restaurant meal delivery, outdoor fitness instruction and more. Housekeeping will be provided on an adjusted schedule while guests are in-bubble.
